Managing a Pythagoras Cloud License with Multiple Seats

This guide shows you how to set up and manage user administration as a Cloud Administrator for a Pythagoras cloud license with multiple seats.


IMPORTANT

  • You can create more users than the number of purchased seats, but:
  • Only the number of purchased seats can work simultaneously in Pythagoras.
    Example: with 3 seats, you can create 5 users, but only the first 3 logging in can work.

  • A user cannot log in on multiple machines at the same time but can alternate between up to 2 computers.




Follow the steps below to correctly set up user administration.


Check the welcome email

Make sure you have received the email inviting you to become Administrator. Click the link to access the Cloud Portal.

Log in to the Cloud Portal

  1. Click the link in the email:: https://licenses-cloud.pythagoras.net/
  2. Log in using the credentials provided in the email (this account is linked to your cloud license).
  3. Go to Products and review your license overview.


Adding users

  1. Go to the tab Licensed Users.

  2. Click the button Add Licensed User.

  3. Under Define Attributes:

    • Enter the user’s name and email address.

    • Set Send Notification to Yes so the user receives an email.

  4. Under Permissions: these settings are fixed and cannot be adjusted.

  5. Confirm the addition by clicking Save.


The user will now receive an email at the provided address.

Important: You can add more users than the number of seats.
They can all log in, but only the purchased number of seats can be active at the same time.
If you exceed the number of seats, the user will get an error when starting Pythagoras:
HASPStatus 38.

Make sure to create a Licensed User for everyone who will work with Pythagoras — including yourself, if applicable.
Each user is not allowed to run multiple sessions at the same time, but they can alternate between two different computers (maximum 2).

MANAGING USERS

Want to edit, deactivate, or remove a user?


  1. Go to the Cloud Portal

  2. Open the tab Licensed Users Overview.

  3. Find the user in the list.

  4. In the Actions column:

    • Click Edit to make changes.

    • Click More Actions and choose:

      • Disable to temporarily disable the user. Pythagoras sessions immediately detect that the license is no longer available.

      • Enable to reactivate the user. Pythagoras automatically restores the connection.

      • Delete to remove the user entirely.


If an end user switches to a third machine, delete this user and create a new Licensed User with a new Identity Code, as the maximum number of machines per end user is 2.





FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

User can’t access the license?

  • Check if the correct email was used and if the activation email was received (also check the spam folder).
  • Check if there are free seats.
  • If you see the error HASPStatus 38 (TooManyUsers), check if all seats are already occupied.




Can I create more users than seats?

Yes! You can, for example, create 5 users with only 3 seats. Only the active seats determine who can work at the same time.
